Malay Dance
The objective of the club is to provide an avenue for students to enjoy learning Malay dance while developing their understanding of Malay culture and building their character through their involvement in traditional dance.
Students participate in a programme that includes:
Skills Development
Members learn the foundation skills of Malay dance and practise graceful
movements and rhythms. Students develop dance abilities through structured
choreography training. Players participate in activities that help them
master traditional dance techniques and expand their understanding of Malay
cultural traditions.
Performance Opportunities
Students are exposed to the Singapore Youth Festival where they can showcase
their skills and represent the school. These events provide valuable experience
and help students demonstrate their hard work and school pride. Members
learn the importance of teamwork through group performances and develop
stage presence.
Character Building
Students focus on developing
discipline and responsibility alongside their dance abilities. The programme
emphasises that dance practise instils essential life skills. Members gain
appreciation for Malay culture and traditions that creates a meaningful
connection to their heritage.
