School Rules and Regulations
1. Compulsory
1.1 National Anthem and Pledge
1.1.1 Students who are Singapore Citizens must sing the National Anthem and recite the Pledge.
1.1.2 Students will take the Pledge with the right fist placed over the heart.
1.1.3 Non-citizens are to stand at attention to show respect during the flag raising ceremony.
1.2 School Uniform
1.2.1Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform. Modification to the uniform is not allowed.
1.2.2 School uniform and PE attire are to be neatly worn. Students are allowed to remain in their PE attire on days they have PE. lessons, Modular PE, or CCA.
1.2.3 Students reporting for Dental Treatment after/before curriculum/during school holidays must be in school uniform/ PE attire.

Shoes and Socks | • Laces or Velcro tape black shoes with black soles. • Only ESPS socks should be worn above the ankles. • Sports shoes can be worn during sports events and CCA. • Students are allowed to put on a pair of sandals if they have any injury on their foot/feet. No slippers are allowed. |

2. General Appearance
2.1 Neat attire and hairdo.
2.2 Students should have short and clean fingernails. No nail varnish/polish is allowed.
2.3 Students should not put on ornaments or jewellery of any kind such as rings, bangles, or fanciful earrings.

Hair | Long hair: · Fringe must be 1cm above the eyebrows. · Long fringes must be clipped up or pulled back with black hairclip or headband. · Long hair to be neatly tied up with only black hairband. · Hair colour should remain natural.
Short hair: · Fringe must be 1cm above the eyebrows. · Long fringes must be clipped up or pulled back with black hairclip or headband. · Hair length must not touch the collar.

Accessories | · Only small, round ear studs are allowed measuring 0.3cm in diameter. · Permitted colours: Gold, Silver and Black. | · No accessories allowed. |
• Only simple and functional watches and spectacles are allowed. • Ornament accessories like friendship bands and bracelets are not allowed. |

3 Attendance and Punctuality
3.1 Attendance is compulsory for all school activities.
3.2 Punctuality is to be observed at all times. Students are expected to be in the hall/classroom by 7:25 a.m. sharp for the flag-raising ceremony and pledge-taking or they will be considered late.
3.3 Absence from school must be supported with a valid medical certificate from a qualified doctor or a letter with valid reason(s) from parents/ guardians. Only 5 letters from parents/guardians are accepted per semester.
3.4 Students who are not feeling well and wish to go home must obtain approval from the class teacher. A parent/ guardian must be present to sign out at the General Office and accompany their child/ ward home.
3.5 All students are expected to attend school on school days and are strongly discouraged from taking leave before the school vacation period or during term time. Please obtain a form for Leave of Absence and submit it at least one week in advance to the Form Teachers if students are travelling before the school vacation period or during term time.
4. Conduct and Behaviour – During School Hours
4.1 Students must always uphold the good name of our school.
4.2 Students are to be well-behaved, polite and courteous at all times.
4.3 Students moving to another classroom during a change of period must do so quietly and in an orderly manner.
4.4 Students should keep to the left when they are walking up/down the staircase, corridors and along the walkways.
4.5 As a class, students should walk in twos or in a single file as instructed by their respective teachers.
4.6 Students must obtain the teachers’ permission before leaving the classroom during lessons. Students must have a “CORRIDOR PASS” when leaving the class.
4.7 No student should remain in the classroom during recess unless accompanied by a teacher.
4.8 All assigned homework must be handed in on time.
4.9 Students must treat school property with care. Students must not deface any wall or furniture; tamper with the fire alarm or the fire extinguishers; spit or litter.
4.10 Students should practice good toilet habits like flushing after use and keeping the toilets clean and dry.
4.11 Students should play an active part in the preservation and conservation of the school environment.
4.12 Lost items should be reported to the teacher-in-charge immediately.
4.13 Items found should be returned to the General Office or kept in the Lost & Found cupboard immediately.
4.14 Students must be truthful and have the courage to admit and learn from mistakes.
5. Conduct and Behaviour - During Recess
5.1 All students must queue up for their food in an orderly manner.
5.2 All students are not allowed to run and play in the canteen.
5.3 All food and drinks are to be consumed in the canteen.
5.4 Students must return used crockery, cutlery, cups or bottles to the respective containers provided.
5.5 Students must throw litter into the bins provided.
5.6 Students are not to buy anything from the vendors once the end-of recess blinkers are switched on.
5.7 Students must assemble promptly as soon as the end-of recess blinkers are switched on.
6. Personal Belongings
6.1 Students are responsible for their own belongings at all times. Students should label their personal belongings (like water bottle, pencil case, shoes, wallets, bags, food containers, etc) with their names and classes.
6.2 Students are NOT to bring any items that would disrupt the learning process such as toys and games.
6.3 Students are strongly discouraged from bringing mobile phones/smart wrist watches to school. All communication devices such as mobiles phones/smart wrist watches must be switched off during school hours.
6.4 All students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which can be used or intended to be used to cause harm to others.
